Having grown up in a family of musicians and performers, Yoshimi started dancing as soon as she could walk. Embracing both sides of her cultural roots and heritage, she developed a love for hip-hop dancing, hula, and tahitian dance. As well as being self taught, she studied various styles at Randazzo Dance Studio and Washtenaw Community College. Over time she has also become well-versed in different styles of latin dance and has performed in several groups around the Ann Arbor area.
Yoshimi has acquired a gift instilled in her by her environment and family. Making her first public appearance singing with her father's steel drum band at the tender age of 9, over the course of time, she began gaining newly found vocal skills. Under the vocal training by her father and other coaches, Yoshimi started experimenting with other various forms of music such as jazz, and r&b. Along the way of developing her talent in music, she knew she wanted to become an all around performer, by adding a dance element to her shows and performances.
With hard work, she has come into her own as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher. She's performed in countless festivals, weddings, and competitions, including the nationwide NAACP ACT-SO competition. She is currently an instructor at the Fine Arts Academy of Dance in Whitmore Lake, MI.
